This is my own blend I’ve tried and tested on my two kids. So this is just a recommendation if you’d like to try it.
Nappy Rash Blend:
- 15 drops of Lavender
- 7 drops of Meleleuca/Tea Tree
- 3 drops of Roman Chamomile
- 2 drops of Helichrysum
Optional: Instead of Roman Chamomile, you can replace with Peppermint oil to help cool and sooth itchy skin.
Nappy rashes can happen because of many reasons. Perhaps bubs has an irritation due to the wetness, reaction to their waste, thrush, fungal infection, allergies etc. The reason why I use Lavender and Roman Chamomile is to help calm the skin irritation and can help with allergies. Meleleuca or Tea tree oil is to relieve and reduce thrush/fungal infections. And Helichrysum to assist with the healing of the skin.
This mix is for a 10ml roll-on and is to be topped up with fractionated coconut oil. Coconut oil is moisturising, naturally anti-bacterial and can create a protective barrier for their skin. When rash occurs, wash the area often with water and ensure skin is dry before applying oils. Use after every nappy change until skin is healed. This blend can also be used for other skin issues too! It can double as an owie blend too. It helps slow a cut from bleeding, reduce bruising and rashes.
I have this premixed and ready to use for any kind of rash for the whole family!
